Riders urged to saddle up for second bike ride
9:30am Friday 15th June 2012 in News
Cyclists of all abilities are being urged to “get on their bikes” for the Otley Sportive.
The fun event, now in its second year, takes place on September 15, and involves three circular routes of differing difficulty.
The shortest is a 14-mile cycle to Ilkley and back, while the longest is a 66-mile epic that heads into the Yorkshire Dales, beyond Grassington.
Organiser Luke Minshall, of Guiseley, said: “The event has a personality that really invites and welcomes all riders of all abilities to get on their bike and ride with wonderful people.
“The medium and long rides head into the Yorkshire Dales National Park where, as you climb up the valley, you will be rewarded with some of the most beautiful countryside Yorkshire has to offer.
“The Otley Sportive is about having fun, and not about egos. Finishing the ride with tea, coffee and cake allows all the riders to come together and share their experience.”
