Dancers from a Guiseley performance school have made it through to the finals of a national dance competition.

The street dance crew, from the West Yorkshire School of Performing Arts, will compete at the O2 in London on June 10 in a bid to become the Nation’s Best Dance Crew.

The Wyspa team, made up of 12 pupils aged between eight and 18, made their way through to the finals by performing in a regional heat in Manchester.

Their routine was choreographed by Frankie Johnson, who was performing along with her twin sister Esther.

Karen Fawcett, who has run Wyspa for 25 years, said: “I have never been in a room with so many talented pupils, but my crew didn’t let me down. We have made it through to the final.”

Karen said there will be a few spare seats on the coach down to London and she invited anyone who loves dance and who wants to go along to contact her on (01943) 876000.
