FIRE crews from across West Yorkshire were called out to a blaze at a disused building on an industrial site in Otley on Monday. JUN 30 The alarm was raised at 10pm after someone had spotted flames coming from an empty two-storey building at Ashfield Works, off Westgate.
Fifty firefighters from six fire crews from the Leeds and Bradford areas, plus two vehicles with hydraulic platforms, attended and took several hours to get the fire under control.
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service is still investigating the cause of the blaze.
- Leeds City Council is currently considering bids from developers hoping to redevelop Ashfield Works.
