ALL your Last Night of the Proms favourites will feature as part of the Ilkley Town Council-organised Concert on The Grove.

The annual event - which has been proving popular in the town for the last 15 years - takes place on The Grove on Saturday, August 25 from 7pm to around 10pm.

The concert will feature Royal Academy Soprano Pheobe Smith, flamenco guitarist Samuel Moore, fun folk group Fox Corner and Bradford Academy singers Dominique Fleming and Kristen Gregory, as well as The Marsden Silver Prize Band.

Tickets for a single seat or tables of eight are £15 per person available from Ilkley Visitor Information Centre on Station Road, Ilkley or by calling 01943 602319.

Organiser, town and district Councillor Mike Gibbons said: “Come along and hear songs and arias likes Summertime, Nella Fantasia, Who Wants to Live Forever, Music of the Night and Song to the Moon, plus all your ‘Last Night’ favourites.”

For people who buy tickets there will be flags and song sheets available. Lots of people take along a picnic to enjoy Ilkley’s favourite musical evening.

Cllr Gibbons added: “We are hoping for a good night. Obviously we can’t predict the weather but looking at the long range forecast we are hoping it will be ok.

“There is a professional sound system which ensures everyone can hear the music at this event which is highly prized by the people of Ilkley.

“Pheobe Smith comes up from London. She is a superb soprano. Fox Corner are old favourites and always fun and entertaining.

“In the second half the Marsden Silver Band will play all the Last Night favourites including Jerusalem and Land of Hope and Glory.”
