YORKSHIRE in Bloom judges have been casting an appreciative eye over Bramhope's floral attractions.

Judges Christine Breare and Russell Boland visited the village on Tuesday, July 17 when they were shown around by members of Bramhope in Bloom.

Bramhope in Bloom Chair Janet Hobson said: "The judges really appreciated the way that we had incorporated summer bedding with shrubs and perennials for sustainability, and the choice of plants for biodiversity.

"A visit to Bramhope Primary School's wildlife and herb gardens, meanwhile, was a real treat with the children acting as guides and exhibiting their knowledge and love of gardening.

"The flower display in the hayracks and baskets at the local pub, the Fox and Hounds, was classed as 'outstanding' along with the hayracks at the Cross.

"The judges could see the magnificent effort that our volunteers had put in over all the village, and experienced the support that they receive from everyone in Bramhope."
