BIG crowds turned out in Otley to enjoy this year's Food and Drink Festival.

The annual event basked in bright sunshine as it took place in the town centre on Sunday, July 15.

Visitors got to try all kinds of locally produced food and drink along with cookery demonstrations by local chefs, live music and entertainment.

Otley Town Partnership - which runs the festival Otley BID, Otley Town Council, Business Focus and Newstead and Walker - was delighted with the turnout.

A spokeswoman said: "Hundreds of food-loving people enjoyed another great day out at this year’s festival.

"With glorious sunshine getting everyone into the holiday spirit they were able to spend time relaxing and sampling all the delicious fare on offer, enjoying the entertainment and soaking up the atmosphere.

"Some of the Otley Farmers’ Market stallholders, with their excellent range of local produce, were joined by an array of Street Food vendors selling a wide variety of gorgeous food and delicious drinks.

"The cookery theatre meanwhile, hosted by local chef Stephanie Moon, featured demonstrations from Patisserie Viennoise, Gusto Italiano, Bondgate Bakery, Tancred Farm and, of course, Stephanie herself.

"All were able to showcase their talents and love of good food to a very appreciative audience in a packed marquee."

She added: "The entertainment was provided by local artistes and attracted large crowds, and children were treated to free face painting and bun decorating - both of which proved to be highly popular!"
