A HOSPITAL which allowed the TV cameras into its Accident and Emergency Department has been praised by an MP.

Leeds General Infirmary featured in A&E Live, which marks the 70th anniversary of the NHS by giving an insight into the life-saving work being carried out.

Pudsey, Horsforth and Aireborough MP Stuart Andrew said: “I was delighted to learn that Leeds General Infirmary, which is a fantastic hospital with incredibly dedicated and compassionate staff, would be featuring on A&E Live and I was very excited to tune in.

“The behind the scenes footage of Leeds General Infirmary really shone a light on the amazing staff at the front-line of urgent patient care and I was very proud to watch the healthcare staff who save and change the lives of many of my constituents who find themselves in need or urgent medical care. I would like to personally congratulate all the staff who work so hard in this hospital and featured in the programme for showing our NHS at its best and thank them for all their hard work.”
