VOLUNTEERS will help lower Otley's Chevin Cross this weekend.
The 36ft high monument, first introduced by the Otley Council of Christian Churches, has been a feature of the local landscape at Easter since 1968.
Anyone wishing to help lower the cross should meet at Surprise View for 9am on Saturday, April 14.
A booklet marking the cross's half century, meanwhile - The Chevin Cross - Otley, 1968-2018 - has been produced by Otley Churches Together.
The publication costs £5 and is available from the town's churches and from Beks Electrical, Just Books and Casa Vitae.
