FELL rescue volunteers were called out on Saturday to the Bolton Abbey estate to help a visitor in a motorised wheelchair.
A team of 12 volunteers from the Upper Wharfedale Rescue Association (UWFRA) responded to the call at 3.20pm by police after the woman's electric chair broke down in woodland near Bolton Abbey.
A spokesman for Grassington based UWFRA said the woman was successfully returned to the car park.
"Team members rigged a harness using ropes attached to the chair and dragged it and the casualty back to the car park," he said.
