STUDENTS, staff, families and friends of the school attended St Mary’s Carol Service in the Chapel at Leeds Trinity University on Monday, December 11.

A group of students and staff from Issoire, France, who are taking part in St Mary’s annual French Exchange visit, were also able to attend. This was a wonderful community Christmas celebration of ‘the Coming of our God’, the theme for the service.

Headteacher, Mr Darren Beardsley said: "We were very pleased to see so many parents, families and friends of the school at the Christmas Carol Service. Our thanks are extended to Fr Carlisle and all staff and students who contributed to the evening’s service, where students read, sang and played to an exceptionally high standard. The Christmas service was a true celebration of the strengths and talents that we are blessed with in school.”

St Mary’s students participated fully in the evening and provided music as members of the Senior, Chamber and Pop Choirs, Jazz and Soul Bands and KS3 String Group, as well as delivering individual pieces. Staff, parents, governors and visitors commented on how much they had enjoyed the service.
