EUAN Brennan and Bethan Morley produced winning runs in the final West Yorkshire Cross Country League meeting of the year.

Brennan won the under-17 boys' race with a time of 16min 47sec while helping Ilkley Harriers to take second place in the team event.

That result was good enough to see Harriers take top spot overall in the four-race series.

Morley continued her good form as she won the under-17 girls race by 57 seconds as she romped home in a time of 16:52. Elizabeth Stewart of Skyrac was sixth

Brennan was well supported by team-mates Dominic Coy in fifth place and Robbie Matthews who was 12th.

The final league fixture was run on a snow-covered Cliffe Castle course at Keighley and proved a good test.

Ilkley's under-11 boys took the team honours on the day. It was their third victory in the four-race series and gave them the overall title.

Archie Budding produced another good run to take second place in 5:40 and was followed home by Jonathan Archer (6th) and Alexander Wolfenden (11th).

Aston Brogden led the Otley challenge in 24th with team-mate Ned Gallagher-Thompson finishing 31st.

Oliver Pacey (29th), Sam Worley (34th), Bobby Swanston (39th), Ethan Doyle (42nd), Charlie Lack (49th) and Oscar Shinn (63rd) were the non-scoring Ilkley runners while Eduardo Cesar De Sa was 37th for Skyrac.

Skyrac's Georgina Rayner was the top local athlete in the under-11 girls race as she came home 15th.

Kitty Quinn was the first Otley runner in 21st place with Ilkley's Helena Coy, Emily Gascoyne (Otley), Lizzie Reilly (Ilkley) and Sophie Beaumont (Skyrac) filled position 25-28 respectively.

The Otley pair of Jessica Rawstron and Charlotte Chambers were 32nd and 33rd, just ahead of Skyrac's Sophia Errington (35th).

Ilkley were third in the under-13 boys thanks to the efforts of Wilbur Summerson (7th), Max Ashelford (18th) and George Morley (20th). There non-scorers were Toby Smith (27th), Tom Threlfall (29th)Josh Beevers (30th) and Dylan Shinn (60th).

Skyrac took fourth position after a strong second-place finish from Sebastien Cuming. Ben Hill was fourth and the third scoring runner was

Henry Cesar De Sa (39th). Liam Beaumont (54th) was the non-scorer.

Otley's one runner in the race was George Chambers who finished in 59th place.

Ilkley's highest finisher in the under-13 girls race was Charlotte Kenneth who was one place ahead of Phoebe Worrall. Erin Doyle was their third scorer in 23rd place as the team came fifth.

Isabel Macina (39th), Amy Brown-Carrera (51st) and Neve Tennant (60th) completed the Ilkley contingent.

Amelia Kiwomya led the Skyrac runners home in 22nd, followed by Chloe Agar (30th), Abigail Stubbs (36th) and Esme Astbury (41st).

Otley's top finisher was Charlotte Rawstron in 31st place while Sadie Bentham was 37th.

Ilkley's girls were sixth in the under-15 girls team event, but they did finish third in the overall standings as they could discard the result with just three to count from the four races.

Poppy Anderson was their first runner home in 17th while Nina Pearce, Catherine Westhead, and Pippa Threlfall filled positions 21 to 23 respectively.

Charlotte Elston (35th), Georgina Weston (36th), Katie Meredith (41) and Emily Kenneth (43rd) completed the Ilkley contingent.

The top local performer in the race was Skyrac's Eve Jones who took a strong second place. Her team-mates Hannah Stubbs (27th) and Laura McArthur (39th) also ran well.

Ilkley's Nathan Coy was 19th in the under-15 boys race with team-mate Adam Townsend in 36th place. Otley's Jenson Brogden was 29th.
