PERFECT weather conditions on Saturday drew thousands to the Burley-in-Wharfedale Christmas market, craft fair and lights switch on.

People of all ages filled the village’s Main Street and Grange Park, where there was entertainment and a wide variety of food and gifts, organised by the Burley and District Chamber of Trade (BADCOT).

The village’s renowned Christmas lights, put on by the Burley-in-Wharfedale Community Trust (BWCT), were this year switched on by founder of JCT 600 motors and president of Bradford City Football Club, Jack Tordoff.

BADCOT market co-ordinator, Danny Schofield said: "The sun shone on us this year and we had a great crowd here from early on, soaking up the lovely atmosphere.

“People came from all over, in time to enjoy the craft fair, market stalls, music and rides as well as the spectacular lights.”

BADCOT donates proceeds from the street market to the BWCT Christmas Lights Fund.
