GUISELEY striker Reece Thompson has joined Boston United on loan until mid-January.

With a number of new signings coming into the club recently, Thompson has found his opportunities scarce.

He recently scored four goals in the Lions' 6-0 County Cup win over Garforth but will head to National League North side Boston for more game-time.

The 23-year-old joined Guiseley in the summer from North Ferriby United.

The Worksop-born player started his career with Retford United’s youth system before he served his apprenticeship with Lincoln City.

He made one first team appearance for Lincoln as a substitute in 2012 and was then released and joined North Ferriby.

He broke the record for goals scored in the Under-19 League, with 32 goals from 18 appearances. He scored 14 goals in 20 games with Retford’s first team in 2012-13 season and scored 39 goals in the 2013-14 season.

He joined Frickley Athletic in October 2014 but after a successful trial Thompson signed for League Two York City in August 2015. In September 2016 Thompson left York by mutual consent before joining newly-promoted North Ferriby United.
