HORSFORTH in Bloom members marked their award-winning success with a coffee morning in the town's museum.
The event, on October 7, celebrated two Yorkshire in Bloom awards. Horsforth MP Stuart Andrew was among those attending the celebration.
A Horsforth in Bloom spokeswoman said: "Raymond Ford who had accepted the certificate at the RHS Award Ceremony at York Race Course on September 12 had found it a nerve-wracking occasion. The awards for the Small Town category had all been read out without a mention of Horsforth.
"In despair he decided that they must not have merited any award at all only to hear 'Top of Category and Gold Award –Horsforth'.
The coffee morning featured a loop presentation showing all the photographs on the Horsforth in Bloom Facebook site - allowing visitors to appreciate the scope of the work done by the gardening team led by Peter Mallott and Alan Gray.
