STUDENTS and staff at Guiseley School are celebrating some excellent A level results, with many students achieving outstanding grades and going on to top universities.

Students will be studying at universities including Oxford, Warwick, York, Bristol, Manchester, Nottingham, Newcastle, Lancaster, Southampton, Leeds and Liverpool, alongside a range of apprenticeships and college courses.

In a statement the school said : "These excellent results are a reflection on the hard work by both students and staff throughout the year. A number of our students achieved outstanding results including Anan Hawkes who was delighted to have achieved 5 A* grades and May Lyden who achieved 2 A* and 3 A grades.

"Other students who achieved 3 or more A*-A grades including Amy Boyle, Amy Clayton, Lucy Collyer, Samuel Hugh-Jones, Jacob Morse, Tom Palmer , Lizzie Pratt, Isabel Seakins, Rebecca Stokes, Mark Wharrier, and Gemma Wright.

"The following students also performed extremely well at this level. They are Billy Ellinor, Adam Garnett, Sophie Hirst, Toby Lawson, Frances Lyden, Lydia Messenger, Bunty Metcalfe, William Milton, Oliver Mordey, Eleanor Morrish, Aimee Palmer, Katie Pearce, Robert Priestley, Toby Read, James Turland and Henry Wood."

Guiseley School Headteacher Paul Morrissey said: "It is really pleasing to see that so many of our students have been able to secure their further education or training destination of choice with these results. They have worked hard for this success and it is well deserved. We are very proud of them and wish all students every success for the future."
