Last year Leeds welcomed its first ever Rum Festival when two of the city’s finest bartenders got together at the Corn Exchange and hosted a world class event.

And they’re back again this year.

Sam Fish, operations manager for Mojo bar has teamed up with Dan Crowther, The Hedonist Project, and brand ambassador for Ableforths, to celebrate the drink they are both passionate about - rum.

“Rum is the most diverse spirit category in the world,” said Sam. “The way that it's made varies massively from country to country; Dan and I believe this should be celebrated.

"Last year’s was a roaring success and 2017 is set to be even better.”

This year there will be over 80 rums available and masterclasses from the likes of Diplomatico, Appleton, Pussers and many more as well as a special cocktail masterclass with Re'al cocktail ingredients.

All rum samples and the masterclasses are free with the ticket.

Sam said: “We were the first Rum Festival in Leeds and now we are the only one that offers all free samples. The only thing the customer pays for is the ticket.”

Masterclasses will be hosted by brand ambassadors allowing rum lovers new and old to discover more about their favourite tipple from the people that know the most about them.

With Caribbean music, street food from Little Bao Boy and Eat New York as well as Sugar Spun Sisters cooking up some rum inspired waffle flavours it promises to be a right rum do.

Leeds Rum Festival is at The Corn Exchange, Leeds City Centre, on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 24th September from 12pm to 5pm.

Standard Entry – including access to master classes and free samples is £13.33 (inclusive of booking fee). VIP Entry – including all of the above plus a cocktail on arrival is £17.58.

Tickets are available from Eventbrite.com. Advance booking is advisable
