A GUISELEY vets is backing public sector workers by offering cut-prize treatment and medicine.
White Cross vets is giving a ten per cent discount on all bills and products to local people who work for the fire service, NHS, police, army, navy and RAF.
Anyone wanting to take advantage of the scheme can simply show their relevant ID when they visit the practices.
Vet Tom Ward said: "This scheme was originally born out of White Cross Vets’ ongoing support for a number of working dogs, such as fire and search dogs, that we provide free healthcare to every month as part of our wellness plan. These dogs do such an amazing job, we wanted to help make sure they were as healthy as possible.
"As an organisation that offers a valuable local service, we then decided to expand the initiative across all the Armed Forces and Emergency Services who also play a vital role within the community. Whilst many retailers and national brands offer similar benefits, as far as we’re aware, we’re the first veterinary group to offer such a scheme, which makes it an exciting prospect."
