ILKLEY preparatory school, Westville House School, is congratulating its Year 6 children who have excelled in the recent 2017 SATS results.

Every child achieved the ‘expected level’ with all producing high results, significantly outstripping the national results. The National SATS tests assess where a child is in mathematics, reading, spelling, punctuation and grammar.

Mr Ian Shuttleworth, Headmaster, said: “These results are testament to the hard work put in by the children and also by all the staff at the school. The curriculum that Westville House has in place is exceptionally broad and allows every child the chance to excel and to be able to produce results of the highest order in tests such as these. We are delighted that 100 per cent of our Year 6 achieved the National levels but even more delighted that their results were exceptionally high. Not only do children leave Westville with tremendous academic achievements, but they also leave as well rounded, confident young people well prepared for their transition to their senior schools. As part of the school principles we advocate every child being the best version of themselves and every child has certainly achieved that and more! We wish them every success in their future educational journey.”
