A NEW series of open mic comedy nights will start up in Otley this week.
The Horse and Farrier, on Bridge Street, will hold a launch night for The Shoe Cake Comedy Club on Friday, July 21.
Doors open at 7.30pm and the shows, with Carl Gillespie on MC duties, will start at 8pm when Edinburgh Fringe regular Tom Little takes the stage.
That will be followed by four, ten minute open mic spots and then a performance by headline act The Discount Comedy Checkout.
Running once a month, the club's organisers say its purpose is: "To not only attract some pretty good comedians along to make us laugh, but also give new comedians a platform to perform or try new stuff."
Referring to the headliners, they added: "These guys perform 100 per cent improvised comedy to the audience;s suggestions.
"Its brilliant fun."
Tickets are available for £4 form ticketsource.co.uk or can be purchased from the bar, or on the night, for £5.
