A POET and author will hold a fundraising creative writing workshop in Otley this month.
Maria Stephenson, one of Prince Henry's Grammar School's Community Education Programme tutors, will lead the event at the school on Tuesday, June 20.
The workshop runs from 6.30pm to 9pm - with a refreshment break - and a minimum donation of £10 is being requested, with all proceeds going to Candlelighters.
The children's cancer charity is one very close to Maria's heart.
She said: "This event acknowledges the amazing work of Candlelighters who have been supporting my two-year-old niece, Hannah and her parents, Allison and Joseph.
"Hannah was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia just before her first birthday and is now in the maintenance phase of her treatment.
"I am always in awe of how she faces everything with her beautiful smile."
