AN EVENT to tackle the taboo around death proved a success when it took place at Ilkley's Clarke Foley Centre.
The event was one of a series organised by Guiseley-based Full Circle Funerals and Walker Foster Solicitors, from Ilkley.
A spokeswoman for Walker Foster said: "We were pleasantly surprised about the turnout for this first event which we will repeat next year on the back of the success of this. There were around 15 to17 members of the public who came along to listen to all of the presentations from our Wills and Probate department, Clarity Counselling, Bradford NHS Trust Palliative Care, Full Circle Funerals and Sue Ryder. There were lots of questions and interaction from those who attended and feedback from those who attended said they found it very useful and informative. We were able to have a prize draw as a result of the generosity of many local businesses."
The series of free events were part of a national campaign to encourage people to talk more openly about death.
