AN OTLEY schoolgirl has triumphed at The Royal Windsor Horse Show.

Eleven year old Mia Donaldson and her seven year old pony, Whiteleaze Aurora, competed in the Castle Arena at the 2017 event last week - in front of the Queen and Prince Andrew.

Mia, a Prince Henry's Grammar School student, was declared the Show Pony Champion on Saturday, May 13 - to the delight of her family and friends.

Her father, David, said: "We have owned Whiteleaze Aurora, otherwise known as Gracie, for three years and she is an absolute dream of a pony.

"Mia loves her to bits .

"The combination of Mia and Gracie have achieved amazing results over the past three years."

Mia achieved the Reserve Champion title at the show in 2015, and last year won a place in the Horse of the Year Show.

Her many other equestrian accomplishments include first prizes at the Royal Bath and West Show, Great Yorkshire Show, and Royal International.
