A 'GREAT day out for all the family' is being promised at Otley Show this weekend.

The 208th show will feature a bumper number of Sheep and Horse entries, as well as its usual strong showings in the Cattle, Produce and Handicrafts and other classes.

Thrill-seekers should also be happy with the offerings at the Bridge End Showground on Saturday, May 20 - when the Squibb Freestyle motorcycle stunt display team will be performing all manner of daredevil tricks.

Slightly more sedate attractions on the day will include ferret races, sailing on the lake, birds of prey, spinning and dry stone walling demonstrations, along with the ever-popular farrier and tug o' war contests.

Younger visitors will be well catered for too, through a variety of amusements including giant inflatables, donkey rides and Punch and Judy shows.

And live music from Otley Brass Band plus a variety of local Folk acts will provide a melodic backdrop for the thousands who are expected to turn up and enjoy the proceedings, which begin at 8am.
