AN EIGHT year old schoolgirl's design will help publicise this year's Otley Carnival.
Emma Bowie's colourful entry, featuring a clown, helter skelter and balloons, has been chosen as the overall winner of the event's 2017 Poster Competition.
Emma's design will be used on the front cover of this year’s programme and has also been reproduced on a T-shirt that has been donated to her by Colourfusion of Otley.
The Pool-in-Wharfedale C of E Primary School pupil was presented with her winning trophy by Rosie Potheray of competition sponsors The Stew and Oyster.
Otley Carnival's Press Officer Nigel Gill said: "The committee would like to thank all the children who entered the competition.
"Like all years, this year's was an extremely difficult decision.
"We would also like to thank The Stew and Oyster who were kind enough to sponsored this year’s competition."
The runners-up were: Age 5 Vincent Hunter, Westgate Primary School; Age 6 Lara Whiteside, Pool C of E Primary; Age 7 Harriet James, Pool C of E Primary; Age 8 Abigail Gooch, Pool C of E Primary; Age 9 Milly Spencer, Pool C of E Primary; Age 10 Emily Scholefield, Westgate Primary; Age 11 Corinne Evans Westgate Primary.
