A FREE Easter egg hunt will be staged by Aireborough Rotary Club this weekend.

The event, from 11am to 3pm on Easter Sunday, will raise money through donations on the day to be shared between Martin House Hospice and other local and international charities.

The Egg Hunt will take place at Rodley Nature Reserve LS13 1HP and will feature games, craft and plant stalls, hot food and refreshments and an Easter egg tombola. A number of stores have donated eggs for the event. There will also be a display of how Aquaboxes can help people suffering in disasters. The project, which is supported by the Rotary club, takes water filters and emergency supplies around the world.

The Reserve suffered badly in the 2015 Boxing Day flood but since then a massive amount of restoration work has been carried out by volunteers, who have replaced 350 metres of dead hedging to provide a habitat for amphibians and hibernating mammals. The project was recently highly commended in a National Rotary Environmental Competition.
