GUISELEY Art Club has been given a boost with a £500 award from Skipton Building Society.
The club is one of 163 community groups and organisations around Britain to receive funding under the society’s 2016 Grassroots Giving programme.
The money will be used to provide multi media equipment for demonstrations and workshops.
Record visitor numbers came to the Guiseley group’s November exhibition, and organisers say the club continues to go from strength to strength as it welcomes new members on a weekly basis.

Christine Thomas won the votes of the public for their favourite painting at the exhibition. She received the P Hunt award, which is given in memory of former member Pat Hunt and which was presented by his widow Liz.
The club made a donation from the sales of paintings to The Forget Me Not Cafe, which supports Alzheimer sufferers and their carers.
Paintings can be bought throughout the year via the web site www.guiseleyartclub.co.uk. The club meets on Mondays at 1.30pm at Guiseley Methodist Church Hall, Oxford Road, Guiseley. LS20 9EP. All abilities are welcome.
