PEOPLE over 50 are being invited to help make Leeds a better place to grow old in.

Time to Shine is recruiting members for a steering group which will meet regularly to help shape the direction of an Age Friendly Charter.

Leeds joined the World Health Organisation’s Network of Age Friendly Cities in 2014. Its charter was drawn up in 2016 through a citywide consultation.

Time to Shine must now move on to the next step - encouraging groups and individuals around the city to put the Charter into action.

Meetings will take place in accessible venues around Leeds. Participants will be reimbursed for travel expenses, including taxis if necessary.

Anyone interested is invited to the first meeting in February and will then be able to decide whether to continue.

No commitment is expected initially. For further information contact Emily at emily@opforum.org.uk or on 0113 244 1697

Out of the Shadows: Time to Shine is managed by Leeds Older People’s Forum (LOPF) and funded by the Big Lottery Fund’s Fulfilling Lives: Ageing Better programme to reduce social isolation and loneliness amongst people over 50.
