A NEW Horsforth church is throwing open its doors to give local people the chance to look around.

Emmanuel Baptist Church was based in Headingley but moved to new premises because of its growing congregation.

The church had been renting St. Margaret's Hall in Horsforth for two years and took ownership of the building in October 2015. It has now renovated the building to provide a suitable base for the church and for its pre-school, which was rated outstanding by Ofsted.

Work was completed in August this year, with the pre-school opening in the first week of September and the first Sunday services taking place on Sunday, September 18.

A spokesman said: "The church is keen for people in the local community to come and see for themselves the fruit of this project."

An open day will take place on Saturday, October 1, from 11am to 2pm when there will be more information about the church's ministries and the pre-school along with food and entertainment.
