WHARFEDALE and Aireborough are preparing to mark The Queen's 90th birthday in style.

All kinds of celebrations, from street parties to church services and musical performances, have been organised for this weekend.

In Otley, three days of celebrations at All Saints Parish Church will begin tomorrow when the Thanksgiving service from St Paul's Cathedral will be shown live on a big screen.

Other scenes from The Queen's life will also be shown during the day, with the church's cafe serving refreshments between 10am and 5pm.

The All Saints events, entitled Happy Birthday Ma'am, will also feature a display about The Queen's life, her Christian faith and some of the changes during the past nine decades.

It will continue on Saturday, when the Trooping of the Colour will be broadcast live and the cafe, in the afternoon, will be selling Prosecco and canapes.

Then, on Sunday, the church's bells will be rung at noon and a service for The Queen will be held at 4pm, followed by a birthday tea.

In Addingham, the parish council and civic society have teamed up with St Peter's Church to host an afternoon family celebration on Saturday.

The event will begin with a get-together at Addingham Memorial Hall, in Main Street, at 1.30pm.

Villagers are being asked to collect a free flag to wave whilst walking together, following the Haworth Silver Band, in a procession to the church field.

There, a wide range of stalls and games and a variety of food and refreshments will be available, along with the Cake Fit For A Queen cake decoration competition. It is open to a variety of age groups, and organisers are grateful to the parish council for providing prizes.

Youngsters will also have a chance to enter a Queen’s birthday crown-making contest, sponsored by Addingham Civic Society.

The event runs until 4.30pm and admission is free for children, £1 for adults.

A big royal-themed street party, meanwhile, will be held in Guiseley on Saturday.

Running in Town Gate from 12.30pm to 4.30pm, the event will feature live entertainment, children's activities, stalls, a cocktail bar, raffle and cake 'bake off'.

There will also be a special VIP seating area reserved for children, and party-goers are being invited to take a picnic.

Ilkley will be holding a free street party on Sunday when tables, chairs and entertainment – including performances from The Hot Aire Band and soprano Justine Riccomini – will be provided in The Grove.

Party-goers are encouraged to take their own food and drink to the event, which has been organised by the parish council.

A free concert, featuring music from the City of Bradford Brass Band, Airedale Male Voice Choir, soprano Victoria Sharp and organist Christopher Rathbone, will be held at St Margaret's Church from 6.30pm.

Ilkley Summer Festival, meanwhile, will host its own royal celebrations in The Grove before that on Saturday, with an evening of free music.

Among the artists lining up to perform at Ilkley Bandstand from 6.30pm will be the Two Rivers Swing Band, 5 Dollar Shoes, Ilkley Rocks and Ilkley's very own Shirley Britton.

Other Queen's birthday events taking place include:
