A PARTNERSHIP serving Ilkley, Menston and North Yorkshire is celebrating 60 years of providing accommodation and care for older people.

Throughout next week, Abbeyfield The Dales Ltd will be opening the doors of its homes in North and West Yorkshire to celebrate the landmark date.

Established in 1956, the Abbeyfield Society is a charity providing residential care and support to older people. The organisation has 601 homes and houses in the UK and overseas, in which staff and 4,000 volunteers support 8,000 older people living in a family-like atmosphere.

Formerly the Abbeyfield Ilkley Society, Abbeyfield The Dales Ltd became a partnership between the Abbeyfield Ilkley Society, The Abbeyfield Bradford Society and The Abbeyfield Society in April, managed by chief executive officer, Jackie Bradfield.

On Tuesday June 14, The Beeches, Newfield Drive, Menston will hold a 1950s themed garden party from 2-4pm. Abbeyfield House at Lower Greenfoot, Settle, will host afternoon tea from 4.30pm on Wednesday June 15.

On June 16, Grove House, Riddings Road, Ilkley will throw a 50s themed coffee morning from 10.30 am and garden party from 2pm.

Woodlands, on Woodlands Drive in Skipton will hold a 50’s coffee morning and summer social from 10am on June 18, and on the same day, Holme lea, Queen's Road, Ilkley, will open its doors from 2pm to 4pm for a special garden party.
