YORKSHIRE'S runners will be making a beeline for Otley next month.
The town's 2016 10 Mile Road Race, run as always by Otley Athletic Club, takes place on June 8.
Entries for the event, which starts at 7.30pm at Gallows Hill and takes competitors through Pool-in-Wharfedale, Leathley, Lindley and Farnley, are being accepted now.
About 400 runners are expected to take part in the race, which costs £11 for club members and £13 for non-members.
This year's event has attracted sponsorship from Club Energy, Red Pepper Restaurant and Sinclairs, as well as Up & Running and Harrogate's Pure Running.
Race director, Colin Best, said: "This is the area’s premier athletics event and it attracts a top field from both sides of the Pennines, many of them eager to break the course record, which this year sees the prize money rise to £100.
"It’s especially exciting watching the runners arrive at the finish at Otley Cricket Club, so if you’re looking for something to do on June 8 then come along; there will be a full bar with a barbecue."
Entries can be made via the club’s otleyac.org.uk website.
