A BROWNIE leader has been rewarded for more than 40 years of dedication with the presentation of a silver brooch and certificate.
The award was made to Pam Slater at a special parade service led by the Rev Derek Allan and the Worship Group at Trinity Church Rawdon.It was presented by Leeds County Commissioner Audrey Morrall in recognition of her work for guiding.
Pam led the Brownies in Guiseley from 1974 to 1979 and then moved to Trinity Rawdon where she is Brownie Leader of the 2nd Rawdon Brownies. She has been in the Billing Division of Leeds for the last 30 years, has been district secretary and served under three different commissioners.
A spokeswoman for Trinity Rawdon said: "Pam enjoys the 'fun' of sleep overs and pack holidays, and watching the Brownies mature as they learn different skills."
