A MOSAIC piano is back in Otley after being displayed in Leeds city centre.
The specially decorated instrument, made by Otley-based artist Frances Taylor, was one of several that were installed to promote the 2015 Leeds International Piano Competition.
Frances' upright was, like all of those featured in the Me and My Piano art installation, fully playable though it has sustained some damage from the weather during its outdoor stint in Leeds.
It has now been given a new home outside Otley Courthouse, where it was on show during last weekend's Folk Festival and will remain for the next few weeks.
Frances, who runs mosaic making courses at The Big Hoo-ha Co's Woolpack Studios in Otley, said: "I had a lot of help with the piano from friends and people who’d previously attended my mosaic courses.
"I only had just under three weeks to make all the mosaics, and I couldn’t have done it without so much support.
"The piano spent three weeks outside in Leeds city centre and was played by passersby though sadly, due to rain damage, many of the keys no longer play."
The Courthouse's centre manager, Rachael Savage, said: "Despite the damage the piano still looks great, and we’re really pleased to have it here."
