THE sun shone when the Wharfedale District Beaver Scout Funday took place at the Curly Hill Campsite in Ilkley on the last Saturday in June.

Beavers Scouts from all ten Scout Groups in the district took part. This year's theme wasKnights of the Round Table where the Beavers had to complete ten challenges.

Jousting, making shields which included designing their own coat of arms, searching for Excalibur, rescuing the holy grail and visiting Merlin's enchanted wood were just a few of the wonderful and imaginative bases devised by the different groups. The day concluded with a rousing sing-song.

The Beavers had lots of fun and went home tired but happy.

Wharfedale's Beaver Scout Colonies are always on the lookout for new Leaders.

If any readers would like to consider getting involved and could spare a little of their time per week it would be good to hear from you. Beaver Scouts are for boys and girls from six to eight years of age. If you would like to know more please contact Pete at ADCbeavers@wharfedalescouts.org.uk
