THE 150th anniversary of Alice in Wonderland will be marked at Otley Courthouse with a celebration of books and poetry.

A free workshop on how to make pop-up cards and books will be run by Otley Library at the venue from 10am to 1pm on Saturday, July 11. All materials will be provided.

Also being held on the day to celebrate the publication of Lewis Carroll's enduring classic, will be a 2pm Word Pepper Theatre production, presented by Half Moon, of Pop Up Flashback.

The show uses poetry and an array of eye-catching pop-up books/costumes to tell the story of Sebastian's fantastical memories.

A heart warming tale of complicated families and growing up, the performance includes kings, mermaid queens, deep sea diving, super heroes and dinosaurs - and one very special memory of a gift Sebastian's dad bought him.

Suitable for five to 11 year olds, tickets for Pop Up Flashback cost £8 or £6 and can be booked by calling (01943) 467466 or visiting www.otleycourthouse.org.uk .
