MORE details have been confirmed about the myriad attractions at this year's Pool Feast.

The village's big annual event will take place at Pool Riverside Park – formerly the Recreation Ground – from 1pm to 5pm on July 12.

Opening with the customary dog show, the 2015 Feast looks especially packed.

Everything from an assault course and bungee trampolines to an inflatable climbing wall and electric go-karts will feature, along with a duck race, 'welly wanging' and an egg-throwing contest.

There will also be an ominous-sounding 'walk the plank' game run by St Wilfrid's Parish Church and, in a first for the Feast, an Insanity Live exercise class.

As always, the village's many community and sports groups and charities will be heavily involved, with Pool Cricket Club running a coconut shy and Pool AF a 'beat the goalie' competition.

Pool C of E Primary School will be staging games, too, while the Methodist Church will run a book sale and and Pool Art Group will have members' works on display.

Other activities include a 'soak the parent' stall, from Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice, and, for the second year running, the Chris Leggatt Memorial 5K run.

Mr Leggatt was a very active supporter of local sports, who died in 2012 after collapsing while refereeing at a football match.

His memory will also be honoured when Pool Tennis Club, which he chaired, holds the Chris Leggatt Memorial Junior Tennis Tournament in the afternoon.

The Pool Feast King and Queen, Archie Jackson and Arabella Shaw, will be helping with some of the judging on the day.

Refreshments on offer include cream teas at the village hall, a barbecue at Pool Sports and Social Club, and – later in the day – a selection of dishes provided by the Jewel of India.

Anyone interested in having a stall should contact Richard Parker by e-mailing to parkerinpool@talktalk.net or calling 07764 684023.
