A WHARFEDALE MP met up with local climate change campaigners at Westminster last week.

A diverse group of Climate Coalition supporting constituents travelled down to London to meet Greg Mulholland (Lib Dem, Leeds North West).

They were there as part of the For The Love Of campaign's national Speak UP day, which encouraged people from around the country to raise their environmental concerns with their MPs.

Mr Mulholland said: "The day was a wonderful display of how much people in this country from all backgrounds truly care about climate change, and want to see determined political action to address it.

"The sheer scale of this event, and the fact that people have travelled such substantial distances to meet their MPs, is a testament to the magnitude and importance of the challenge we face.

"I would particularly like to thank those who made the long journey down from Leeds to meet me.

"This is an issue I am passionate about, and I will continue to push hard to hold the Government accountable on their climate change policy.

"It is great to hear from people who are making a difference in the community, and to see organisations come together like this to collectively strive for meaningful action."

Made up of some 100 different charities, student groups, faith organisations and community groups, The Climate Coalition has a combined supporter base of more than 11 million people across the UK.
