A 'COOL' young author has been inspiring Otley students to get creative.

Twenty year old Lucy Saxon, author of Take Back the Skies and The Almost King, visited Prince Henry's Grammar School last week.

The writer, who penned her first book when she was 16 and had it published three years later, answered questions, signed books and chatted to the pupils.

She also spoke about how she found a vocation in writing after being diagnosed with ME at the age of 12 and struggling with chronic fatigue during her teenage years.

English Faculty Leader at Prince Henry's, Annie Cunniffe, said: "The students really enjoyed Lucy’s visit.

"It is not often that we have such a young author, who the students can really relate to, in school.

"The Young Adult books which Lucy writes are just the sort of thing that students of this age will enjoy reading, and they certainly loved asking her questions.

"She is definitely the coolest author we have ever had in school!"

Lucy's first books - part of a planned series of six - are set in a fantasy world, Tellus, where sky ships use steam technology.
