A CHARITY wedding fair takes place in Otley next month to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

The event takes place on Sunday, July 5 from 6pm to 9pm at the Falcon Sports and Social Club on Beech Hill.

It is being organised by Lynn Brown, who runs Flowers by Lynn from her Otley home. She is raising money to support the fundraising efforts of Natalie Johnstone, treasurer of the social club, where she also works part-time. Natalie, 30, is part of a team, which includes Lucinda Blackburn and David Pears, who are cycling from London to Paris over four days on July 22 to raise money for the British Heart Foundation. They have a target to raise more than £4,000 and all money raised at the wedding fair will go to the good cause.

Stalls at the wedding fair include Flowers by Lynn, a team from Solo Hairdressers, Peter's Pantry, David Charles photographer, Wedding Belles, of Otley, Third Fibre Lashes, Balloonz by Juelz and Temple Spa products. Mel and Alice Metcalfe will have a stand to raise money for Martin House

There will be entertainment by The Veleteens and Sylvia Cullen.

Lynn said: "Everyone at The Falcon Club wanted to support Natalie in this great challenge so we came up with the idea of a wedding fair. The event will help the charity, help small businesses promote themselves and show Otley people what great companies there are in the town when planning a wedding.

"I would like to thank Carly Dean for giving up her free time to help me plan this event. All members and staff want to wish Natalie and her team the very best on the cycle journey."

There will also be cake staff at the Falcon Club on July 18 to raise money for the charity.
