SCHOOLCHILDREN celebrated the opening of their news sports pitch by having a run on it.
Part of the grounds at Moorfield School, Ben Rhyddinng Road, Ilkley. have been transformed into a new synthetic grass pitch.
After three months of machinery, deep holes and mud, the new sports pitch is finally complete ready for a busy season of summer sport.
Ellie Candlish, head girl, cut the ribbon and announced it well and truly open and all the boys and girls eagerly ran onto the pitch for the first time.
Sports coach, James Snook, said: “This is a really exciting development for the school and I am looking forward to coaching all sports throughout the year using this fabulous new facility.”
