THE recent open day at Westville House School saw a host of activities.
The morning began with the official ‘switching on’ of the new school website westvillehouseschool.co.uk.
William Whitaker, a past parent and managing director of Whitakers Chocolates, spoke to the school community about the importance of websites as a means of communication in the modern world and then pushed the plunger to declare the new site officially live. Parents, friends and children were treated to a short film version of the new site.
Children of all ages designed Easter eggs and Mr Whitaker stayed to judge the eggs and had also provided the prizes.
The school was buzzing with visitors, including the new head teacher Ian Shuttleworth who will join the school in September.
Rosey James, the current head teacher, said: “Schools must demonstrate technological excellence and encourage all the children to enjoy learning through it.
“Our new website has been built to present a true picture of our school – nurturing the individual child and providing the very best education.”
