THIS festive season, the Ilkley and Skipton Chamber Choir will be filling the beautiful church of St Mary’s in Burley-in-Wharfedale with the much-loved music of Handel, Bach and Palestrina as well as lots of traditional carols.
All tickets sold will go to support the work of Leeds Mencap, a local charity that provides support for children and adults with a learning disability and their families and carers.
Musical director Robert Webb said: “We are delighted to be able to assist the work of Leeds Mencap with our Christmas concert, which promises to have something for everyone from the Christmas repertoire; from traditional European carols to Christmas music composed by 20th century English composers Holst, Vaughan Williams and Darke that has now become a staple of Christmas concerts and carol services the length and breadth of the country.”
Leeds Mencap works with 300 families and individuals with learning disabilities inLeeds every week.
Christmas with Pinsuti is at St Mary’s Church tomorrow (Saturday) at 7.30pm.
