CHILDREN in Otley and Pool-in-Wharfedale should be on the look-out for early visits from Santa Claus -– starting next week.

Otley Lions have asked Father Christmas to take some time out from his busy winter schedule to make a number of fundraising sleigh rides in the area.

Otley residents should first look out for Santa when he heads to the Bradford Road neighbourhood between 5.30pm and 8pm on Tuesday.

He will then be visiting, at the same times: Riverdale and Cambridge estate on Thursday; Riverside, Wrenbeck, the Whartons and the Gills on Tuesday, December 16; and St Davids and St Richards estate on Thursday, December 18.

Santa’s trip to Pool, meanwhile, will take place between 4.30pm and 7pm on Sunday, December 21.

He will also be greeting shoppers at Sainsbury’s supermarket from 9am to 6pm on December 20 and 21; outside Waitrose, at the same times, on Tuesday, December 23 and Christmas Eve; and at Stephen H Smith’s Garden Centre, from his grotto, each weekend before Christmas.

All proceeds will go towards the Lions’ fundraising for a number of charities and good causes.
