On Thursday 4th December, visitors can see the Hall and its magnificent Christmas decorations spectacularly lit at night. The Hall’s topiary bushes will be strewn with Christmas lights, the fire in the Great Hall will glow warmly and there will be twinkling lights around every corner.
Visitors can look forward to seeing a blend of traditional and contemporary styles. A bountifully decked Christmas tree from the estate’s forest – the largest we’ve ever used – will take centre stage in a ‘frozen snow and ice’ themed Great Hall amongst many hundreds of intriguing decorations. These include, amongst other decorations, a hand knitted ‘knitivity’ scene, glass baubles with crocheted covers, Danish woven paper hearts, tulle pompoms nestled amongst pom pom paper chains, wreaths made by the gardening team and snowflakes woven from vintage book pages.
The Driffield Middle 8 Singers will billow out festive carols in the courtyard and Hall for all to enjoy, while the Courtyard Cafe will offer festive fare. A trip to the Courtyard shops completes the visit. The Christmas Shop helps visitors to recreate some of the Burton Agnes Christmas magic at home and the Home & Garden Shop and Gift Shop are ideal for seeking the perfect Christmas gift.
