MORE than 600 people flocked to an open evening at Prince Henry's Grammar School this week.

Primary school pupils and their families turned out in force on Monday [OCT 6] night to find out more about what the Otley secondary has to offer.

They were given a tour of the school, aided by students and staff, which included trying out activities and watching demonstrations in each of the different departments.

The visitors, which included pupils from 29 different primary schools, also heard a presentation from headteacher Janet Sheriff.

Assistant headteacher Christopher Lillington said: "Our annual open evening is a great chance for local people to see everything that is on offer at Prince Henry’s.

"It is always popular, but this year seemed especially busy. It is an exciting year for admissions here as we will be able to take an additional class in Year 7 next year.”

Some of the comments left by impressed parents included: “Very impressed – really looking forward to coming” and “It was fantastic. A lovely evening and great to take part in the activities."

The school's annual Sixth Form open evening will take place on Wednesday, November 12.
