A memorial service to commemorate the the First World War took place in Horsforth's Hall Park on Sunday.
The names of the 249 local war dead were read out at the Service in the Park, which was organised by the Town Council.
The proceedings were taken by the Chairman of HorsforthTown Council, Martin Hughes, and a poem was read out by the area's MP Stuart Andrew. Horsforth Churches were represented at the event by Richard Dimery, of St James's, Woodside. Air cadets from the 2527 Squadron based at Cookridge also attended.
The dead were also honoured with the lowering of the flag, and with one minute's silence.
The event ended on a lighter note with the singing of the First World War songs Pack up your troubles and It's a long way to Tipperary.
