An Otley student is looking forward to overseas adventure after winning a travel scholarship.
Oliver Proctor, who has just finished his A levels at Prince Henry's Grammar School, has been presented with the Waye Travelling Scholarship by the school’s Foundation Governors.
The bursary, originally donated by the late Douglas Waye - a former chairman of the Foundation Governors and Honorary Citizen of Otley - is given to Sixth Form students who are intending to travel.
Oliver said: "I will be using the money to go to La Rosiere in France and work for a ski season in the Alps.
"I have wanted to this since I first went skiing and the scholarship has helped me make that dream come true. I am very grateful."
The presentation was made by Mr Waye's daughter Pam Beck, who is the Foundation Governors' secretary, and current chairman Dr Chris Hatton.
