A "highly physical" theatrical show about the ups and downs of a lone cyclist will be presented at Otley Courthouse tomorrow.

Life Cycle, a collaborative production from Sticks Theatre and Harrogate Theatre, follows the hero's experiences from his first ride right up until the moment he is forced to hang up his racing shoes.

The drama, which starts at 7.30pm on Friday, July 11, features the cyclist riding towards the audience as the story unfolds, and is accompanied by live music created using bike parts.

The thoughts of casual, amateur and professional cyclists are also shared during the performance. Tickets cost £8 or £6 in advance or £9 or £7 on the door.

The Art Stars session on Saturday, July 12 will give children the chance to produce their own self portraits using black and white newspaper text and glue, to layer and collage newspaper.

The class runs from 10am to noon and is suitable for five to 12 year olds - under 9s must be accompanied. Admission costs £5 per child, which includes all materials.

London based duo Poniente will be bringing their distinctive re-imagining of Spanish song to the Courthouse on Saturday, July 19.

The pair blend flamenco with traditional Spanish-language melodies to create their own unique style.

Tickets for the show cost £10 or £8 in advance, or £11 or £9 on the door.
