The local bands who will be performing at this year’s Otley Fake Festival have been confirmed.

The event will be headlined by tribute acts Kazabian, Four Fighters and Green Date.

Five local groups will be joining those acts on the stage of the festival’s marquee at Wharfemeadows Park.

They are: John Palmer Acoustic Band, Old School Enemy, Cut Yourself in Half, Biscuithead and the Biscuit Badgers and Otley’s own The Puppeteers – who will be opening the whole show.

Event licence holder Iain Angus said: “Choosing the support bands to perform at Fake Festivals is a long process and not a very easy one. We have a roster of bands that we know are extremely good and very professional, but we always like to look out for new talent too.

“We don’t just randomly pick a band, but we actually go to gigs to get an idea of how they would perform on our big stage, and also to assess their talent.”

He added that The Puppeteers, who had the honour of being the very first band to play at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, produce “a punchy, dynamic combination of modern music that is rock infused with a strong rhythmic bite”.

Early bird tickets for the festival are on sale until May 7 from www.fakefestivals.co.uk, and cost £15 for adults, £8 for ten to 17 year olds, and £38 for a family of two adults and two young people. Admission is free for children under ten.

Anybody who buys a ticket will also receive a free ticket with free camping for the three-day The Big Fake Festival at Thorseby Park, Nottinghamshire, in September.

Tickets for the Otley event can also be bought from: Premier Wrenbeck News, Wrenbeck Drive; Fusion GameXchange, Market Street and Aura Jewellery, New Inn Court.
