Otley's MP teamed up with other Yorkshire politicians this week to mark the countdown to the Tour de France.

As of today, Thursday, there are just 100 days until some of the world’s finest road cyclists begin blasting through the streets of Wharfedale and beyond.

MP Greg Mulholland (Lib Dem, Leeds North West) joined Julian Smith (Con, Skipton and Ripon) – his co-chair of the All Party Tour de France 2014 Group – and Andrew Jones (Con, Harrogate and Knaresborough), who is from Ilkley and whose parents live in Ben Rhydding, at Westminster for this ‘countdown’ shot.

Mr Mulholland said: “It is now 100 days to Le Grand Départ and the world's biggest annual sporting event going through Yorkshire.

“The Tour de France coming through our cities, towns and villages is a once-in-a-lifetime event and the excitement is building locally.

“As well as being a huge sporting event, Le Tour Yorkshire will also be a big boost to the local economy and will leave a legacy for years to come.”
